Case Study
PM Development Training
Train New Reliability Engineers
Industry: Pulp & Paper
Service Area: Mill wide
Location: Midwest United States
Challenge
A client had new reliability engineers that did not know the Preventive Maintenance Work Orders (PMs) process using SAP.
Objective
Train the mill’s reliability engineers on how to create, modify, schedule, and eliminate PMs in SAP, the mill’s CMMS.
Solution
The Pillar Engineering engineer developed a training class to teach all aspects of working with PMs using SAP. Several 2-hour classes were then scheduled over several weeks with the group of reliability engineers. During those classes, the students learned how PMs are created, modified, and eliminated in SAP. The students learned how to create these PMs to help facilitate the execution of them by the maintenance department. The Pillar engineer then developed a tool that the reliability engineers can use to quickly download and see all of the PMs for the mill or a particular department.
Results
The reliability engineers learned all aspects of using PMs in SAP.
The reliability engineers learned how to properly create these PMs to make it easier for the maintenance department to execute them on time.
A tool was developed to allow the mill to quickly download and see all of the PMs in the mill broken down by departments.
