Challenge

A client had maintenance technicians that were performing outdated environmental Preventive Maintenance Work Orders (PMs) because they referred to outdated procedures and checklists.

Objective

• Modify the current environmental PMs so that they are linked to procedures that have been newly updated by the environmental department.

Solution

The Pillar Engineering consultant went through all of the environmental PMs for the mill. The mill’s environmental engineers had updated the procedures and check sheets and put them in a new location. The Pillar consultant modified every PM and updated the locations that the technicians would go to get these procedures. He then created job packages for each of those work orders and got them ready to be executed for the annual outage.

Results

• The mill was now performing the correct environmental PMs.

• The maintenance technicians were now very quickly able to retrieve the correct PM procedures.
